DUBLIN, Ireland - Two men from the Dublin area remain in custody in Dublin after their arrest earlier in the week.
Detective gardai in Blanchardstown, investigating organised crime activity in the Dublin area, arrested the men as part of a policing operation on Tuesday .
The men were arrested with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit in Rathowen, Co. Westmeath.
A fully loaded semi-automatic Makorav handgun was recovered in their vehicle.
The men are being detained at Blanchardstown and Finglas Garda Stations in suburban Dublin.
Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
