DUBLIN, Ireland - A body has been found in unexplained circumstances in County Dublin.

The grim discovery was made on Wednesday afternoon at a home in Balbriggan, a coastal town in Fingal in the north of County Dublin, about 34 kilometres from the Dublin city centre.

The body was estimated to be that of a man in his 60s.

The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination is being carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau.

Gardai say the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

"No additional information is available at this time. Further updates will follow," a gardai statement said.
