Man dies after his motorcycle collides with car in Co Louth

CO LOUTH, Ireland - A motorcyclist has been killed after his bike collided with a car on Sunday afternoon.

The fatal collision occurred on the R132 in Dunleer, Co.Louth at around 1:15pm Sunday.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was severely injured in the crash and died a short time later.

His body was removed from the scene and taken to the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, where gardai say a post-mortem will occur in due course.

A technical examination of the scene was undertaken by Forensic Collision Investigators. The road was closed diversions in place to allow this to occur.

Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
