DUBLIN, Ireland - In a significant operation carried out by local authorities, approximately €100,800 worth of drugs and €1,600 in cash were seized, leading to the arrest of an 18-year-old youth in Finglas, Dublin 11.

The operation, codenamed Tara, took place late in the evening on Monday.

Late on Monday night, Finglas Gardai executed a search in the Dublin 11 area around 11:15 PM. During the operation, suspected drugs, believed to be cannabis herb with an estimated value of €75,600, and Cocaine valued at €25,200, were confiscated, alongside €1,600 in cash.

As part of this ongoing investigation, an 18-year-old youth suspect was apprehended in the early hours of Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He is currently in custody at a Garda Station in north Dublin, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The seized substances will now be transferred to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for detailed analysis.

Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is still underway, with further developments expected in the coming days.
