Woman in Her 70s Dies in Donegal Road Traffic Collision

Friday night van-car collision leaves woman dead

CO DONEGAL, Ireland - Authorities are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision between a car and a van on the R245 at Bunlin Bridge, Milford, on Friday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30pm Friday. The driver of the car, a woman in her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been taken to Letterkenny University Hospital, where a post-mortem will be conducted.

The van driver, a man in his 50s, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the same hospital. No other injuries were reported.

The road was closed as forensic collision investigators examined the scene, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage from the area between 7:15pm and 7:45pm Friday evening, to come forward.

An investigation is ongoing.
