CO CLARE, Ireland - An elderly woman, critically injured in a road traffic collision late on Monday, has died in hospital.
The collision took place on the R352 near Moymore, Tulla, Co. Clare.
Two cars were involved. The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
The woman critically injured in the crash, aged in her 80s, was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment. She passed away early on Tuesday morning
A Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been appointed to the woman's family.
The driver of the car in which the woman was a passenger was also taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries. She is a woman aged in her 50s.
The driver of the second car, a woman in her 50s, was also seriously injured and was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have completed a forensic examination of the scene.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R352 near Moymore, Tulla, Co. Clare between 3:00pm and 3:30pm, are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
